In the interest of full disclosure I have not purchased Region Guide #2 http://www.tripleacegames.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_21&products_id=105 yet, but I wanted to discuss the Liche King first if others are interested.

A search of the forums netted me this discussion: http://www.tripleacegames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1188&highlight=liche.

I am interested to hear how others have used the Liche King (and "his" three underlings) in their campaigns. So many possible connections come to mind, the top few that spring to mind are:

1. Hela's Madness
2. The Siphoning
3. An alliance with Thrym (followers of Thrym)

Aye, the Liche-Priest, but clearly a "Prince" among Priests of Hela.

Ouch, I put my foot in it that time--I guess in my mind's eye I see "him" as a leader of vast armies, etc.

He was indeed. The Withered Lands RG discusses what he was/may have been (I note you haven't got it yet, so this is more a tip off), and there's a few notes in the freebie undead supplement as well.

Hehe! Smile

I still have this little campaign idea i outlined before: "They have to stop the Black Triumvirat from getting the last ingridients/artifacts or whatever, which allows them to recall their master in a bloody ritual most foul."

This campaign shall encompass Rassilons whole Northeast:
  • Freeing and uniting Heldalund.
  • Stopping Cul from invading their neighbors, and bring it into the alliance.
  • Uniting the forces of Scaetha, Hearth Knights, Heldalund and local rulers against a small army from the Withered Lands
  • Preventing the rise of the Liche priest

A few more details were added after 50+ region guides, and certain (Halloween) freebies got published. This idea is like a good wine...

The general plot of the game I have been running for over a year is similar to Enno's stated above. They've been gathering various powerful relics in an attempt to fulfill a prophesy.

The twist is that the relics can be used to either release the Liche Priest early, or reinforce the seals on his tomb. So not only are they searching for them, but so are servants of Hela.

I wont go into any detail, but Wiggy has hidden some truly great stuff in the various books are regions guides surrounding Hela's servants.

Totally agree. There are so many great hooks it is an embarrassment of riches. I find myself wanting to pull all the threads together into a Unified Theory of Hellfrost. Nothing is ever that simple so I have resisted the urge thus far.

The northern continent is a piece of a jigsaw puzzle, not the entire puzzle.

This thread hasn't been dead too long so I don't feel so bad about zombiefying it.

I actually just finished reading the savage worlds fantasy companion and one of my favorite relics in that was the liche's crown which gave me a great idea. What if the Liche-Priest wasn't an unkillable person but an undestroyable object. Everytime the Liche-Priest was killed the crown would simple transform a new host. This would also mean that the seals on the tomb are to keep people out rather than something in.

The idea I want to work into a campaign is someone hires the heroes to get a specific treasure from the Liche-Lands and one of them becomes the new Liche-Priest
