Try GAmes workshop for figure painting, they usually have something on mini painting...

Try here for some ideas, there are loads of people posting and some of them kitbash and/or paint figures and it covers various periods and genres.
Hope this helps

Good grief! There's only so much time in the day. I can't do it all Sad

This is a great link. Now I just have to buckle down and track down what I need.

[Found it. Wow! This is a great site.]

Have a go at this technique..

http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=6009.0

It is really quick. I painted a figure start to finish in about 20 minutes.... it wont win any painting competitions Embarassed , but I have painted up a pile of Wiggy's Rippers stuff in this method and it is fast.

This is my first attempt

this is some of the rippers stuff

The one thing I would say with this method is get them varnished quick.. otherwise the wash can rub off....

That's the one I saw. I like the idea and am going to give it a try.

I've always had a soft spot for cossacks (between the 3rd and 4th rib). And the gypsies are pretty awesome. It's great that it is so quick.

Good point on the varnish. I haven't painted mini's in so long I have forgotten most of the little I learned.

Just got my minis. Now have to get to the hobby store for some paints.

Of course I just saw a really good sale on Stargrunt mini's at Noble Knight Games. Argh!
