I'm planning on starting a Necropolis campaign soon. I like to start new settings off with official adventures to get everything into place and I was debating between Tales From The Frontline and The Long Sleep. Any reviews or recommendations?

Not so much a recommendation as a word of caution -- TFTFL and TLS are both for Seasoned characters. Weaken the opponents and they'll work for a Novice party.

Actually, you made me think about adventures in the core book and Update. Had you considered running the Savage Tales A Clash of Cultures, Testing Testing, or No Picnic?

If you have the Update, the "Gamma Front" campaign setting at the back has a starter-adventure included.

I'm having a similar conundrum as well. My players have all chosen to be Lazarites, so I'm thinking of running "No Picnic" as an intro adventure to them and to give them the heeby-jeebies (sp?) when they run into the

I figured that'd be a good intro for Lazarites.

I think I'd like to run the campaign with the backdrop of The Battle for Budapest happening, now I know that the Incinerators, Impalers, and Templars are the more frontline units, but it wouldn't be out of character for the Lazarites if their order participated in the campaign as well would it? I think not, after all, they are still a military organization, they just want to study their enemy to defeat him.

Not at all -- all are welcome on the frontline. And all Lazarite group opens a lot of options. For the next five game years anyway...

I was psyched when they decided to be Lazarites, I think there's so much potential for some fantastic roleplaying there.

That last bit sounds ominous. Necropolis 2356: Apocalypse teaser?

I think Lazarites would be doing intelligence work on the front lines, going forward to snatch samples and probably getting into more general scouting/intel

Personally I prefer the balance of a mixed Lance. There's alsways the possibility of Ordo orders providing an extra roleplay dynamic. An all Lazarite unit may be a bit 'agreeable'.

There is an Inquisitor pretending to be a Lazarite in our game. If that won't fry your brain just thinking about it...I don't know what will.

*Brain Fried*

The way I always saw it was that Lances are made up of knights of the same ordo, there are exceptions, and PCs have a knack for being exceptions, but they are generally few. I think this also helps set the tone for the game. A group of lazarites will probably want to go on/be assigned to more research/intel missions whereas a group of incinerators will be content with setting fire to zombies.

Anyways those are just my thoughts

Drew!

Well, yeah, the random missions generator the WM has makes it more likely for Impalers and Incinerators to wind up assaulting a position than it does Preachers. It's worked into the book.
