I have not seen it at my local gaming store and am very curious about it. Before I had seen this book I had always thought about linking Wonderland/ Looking Glass with Oz, Never-Never land and other Victorian/Edwardian era children's fairlytales. The Inspiration came from the old AD&D modules Dungeonland and The Land Beyond the Magic Mirror and more recently from Fantasy Flight's Grimm rpg (as in Bros. Grimm).

This book has me intrigued and looks a bit like a lighter version of the Video Game "Alice".

So what are the target audiences? Is there much combat or is it more puzzles and social interaction? Anything else that might have struck you or seems pertinent to mention?

While I'm likely not the best person to explain it, I can offer some Actual Plays that I found. (Actual Play works best for me to get an idea of a game.)

The gameplay varies greatly depending upon what mood you want to convey. In my personal experience, players tend to veer more towards "goofy," even in supposedly serious settings. (It only takes one clown to twist the mood.)

At its base, Wonderland No More is a fantasy world based loosely upon the works of Lewis Carroll. If you want to play it light or dark, you've got a framework to start with (stats for creatures found in Wonderland, for arcane backgrounds, or "races" found there, etc.), and a variety of suggested encounters.

My preference for running a campaign would be to run it more "serious," and to tie in more with events in the Real World. (I was thinking of setting the Real World part of the game in England, circa 1888 or so - over 20 years since the publication of the first Alice book.)

For convention one-shots, however, I've veered more toward a campier take on it, without any connection to Real World goings-on at all, simply because that requires far less investment upon players totally new to the setting.

A Serious one is the book "The Looking Glass Wars" by Frank Beddar. Baught, in the middle of the waiting reading pile...
