We're just putting the finishing touches to a Showdown setting pack set in the 1930s involving gangsters, amored/armed cars, and a touch of weirdness, and we're looking for playtesters.

Applicants must be known to us either through the forums or personally, know the Showdown rules, and be prepared to play a lot of fights in a short time (about 6 weeks). What we really want tested are the specific Ace Tales.

We also have need of a maths monkey, someone willing to double check all the points costs. Boring but essential work (trust me, I've checked them three times already). We'll provide a spreadsheet showing our costings, which may differ from Showdown.

All applicants must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement (as must all your players). Sign, scan, and e-mail it back -- it's quicker and cheaper than snail mail.

This is not an open playtest -- details of the setting must not be put on the internet, given to anyone outside your playing group, or otherwise distributed.

If you're interested, just say so in this thread. I'll be aiming to send out NDAs ASAP, with a look to sending the PDF late next week.

I don't know the Showdown rules, nor will I have the time in the next few weeks to test a bunch of scenarios, but I could spend some time being a math monkey double checking unit costs.

That would be most appreciated, mate.

You know I'm interested! The group I'm most likely to get include one of your editors (Tom) and maybe one of your conversion writers (Nestor).

I'm assuming you're not interested in folks from other publishers playtesting (thinking of Cutter primarily).

Edit: for what it's worth, I wrote the Showdown supplement Warriors of Mars for Adamant Entertainment's Mars line.

Wiggy, count me in. Tylermo. Actually, my knowledge of showdown is very limited, but I'm a quick learner. I've got at least two or three people who could play. Your call my friend.

Consider yourself in. Tom and Nestor are NDA'd up already as Ubiquity go-to guys, and I'm sure you signed one for All for One. No probs with Cutter being involved, but officially we'd need an NDA from him.

Hey, you know SW, and Showdown is only a cut down version. You're in.

Hi Wiggy,

I'm interested! (I sent you my Showdown spreadsheet way back when before the new edition). If you need any other assurances that I'm an OK guy, you can ask Ron Blessing. He knows me.

I'm VERY interested.

Though I must say I cannot gaurantee my gaming time at this point in time.

(Stupid College and work).

Though I'm majoring in math, and wouldn't mind being a math monkey. Just toss me a 'nana

NUMBER CHECKING IS NOW CLOSED

Robert4818, you took the last slot for that. Files on their way.

I'll take one or two more groups for playtesting the actual setting, then that's being closed as well.

To those who already have the file for playtesting, please make sure you send the names of all your playtesting group with your comments -- we don't want to leave anyone out of the credits.

Hi Wiggy!

I would be very interested to participate in the playtest. I've got a group of 5-6 experienced Savage Worlds players, none of us have any affiliations or potential conflicts.

Thanks!
Dave

Hi Caveman,

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for signing up to playest. I've fired an NDA over to you.

I would like to help. I know Showdown really well. I am also a TAG fan. And my 15 year old son is a built in co-playtester.
