Hi Folks:

I am wondering if anyone has written a combat example that clarifies the difference between semiautomatic and automatic weapons. On page 128, under the "Rate" header, it is mentioned that both weapon types can be used against multiple targets in a combat round. We are directed to the Total Attack rules on p. 111 for more information.

There is a bit more detail on burst fire, full autofire, and strafing on p.109. Can weapons that are Rated M only do the first of these?

Thanks,

John Till

On a closer re-reading of the Rapid Fire rules on p. 112, it looks like either M or A weapons may make a Rapid Fire attack. So, is this the only way a M weapon is differentiated from non-semiautomatic/automatic weapons?

ROF 1 = single shot per round only
ROF M = Rapid Fire
ROF A = Burst, Full Auto, Strafing

Rapid Fire is making two single shots in rapid succesion. Most older fully automatic weapons don't do single shots very well -- press the trigger, lots of bullets come out the barrel.
